Open access policy
Journal of Social Sciences is published under an Open Access policy approach. All its contents are available to its users or their institutions free of charge. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search the full text of the articles, as well as to establish HTML links to the full texts of the articles, without asking prior
permission from the publisher or the author. The right to use the contents of the journal without consent does not release the users from the obligation to give the credit to the Journal and to cite its contents in a manner described under Licensing Policy. This approach is in accordance with the BOAI definition of open access.
Archiving digital version of the journal` s issues
In accordance with law, digital copies of all published volumes are archived in the legal deposit library of the National Library of Serbia.

Article processing charge
Journal of Social Sciences does not charge authors or any third party the publication costs. Both manuscript submission, as well as processing and publishing of articles are free of charge. Also, there are no hidden costs in the article publishing procedure.
Registration and submission of manuscripts
Authors should submit their manuscripts through the articles submission and editing electronic system that is integrated into the journal's website. In order for authors to submit their articles for review process, they must first register on the journal's online platform, while if they are already registered, they should log in to the system and start the simple five-step article submission procedure. Upon acceptance of the article by the journal Editorial Board, the authors should sign the Declaration on the Originality of the article and submit it in scanned form as a supplementary file to the electronic system or send it to the Editor-in-Chief at the following e-mail address: gdn@alfa.edu.rs. Publication of articles in the Journal of Social Sciences is free of charge.
Policy on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and automated tools
The journal supports only the responsible and transparent use of artificial intelligence (AI), including generative AI and large language models (LLMs), as well as other automated tools in scholarly research. However, their use must not compromise research integrity, the originality of scholarly work, confidentiality, or the accountability of those parties involved in the preparation and publication of scholarly articles.
Authors
Authors must disclose the use of generative AI in preparing a manuscript when such use goes beyond routine language correction, editing, and formatting. The disclosure must include the name of the tool used and a description of its purpose.
Authors bear full responsibility for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of their work, including the verification of all AI-generated data, claims, and references. AI tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors, nor can generative AI be cited as a source of scholarly facts or evidence. Authors must cite original and verifiable sources.
Peer reviewers and editors
Peer reviewers and editors must not use generative AI to prepare peer review reports, scholarly assessments, or editorial decisions. Manuscripts and other confidential information must not be entered into external generative AI tools without explicit authorisation and appropriate safeguards in order to ensure confidentiality.
The use of AI solely for language editing or rephrasing text independently written by a peer reviewer or editor may be acceptable, provided that the responsible editor is informed. Final assessments and accountability must always remain with humans.
Accountability and implementation
All participants in the publishing process must comply with this policy. If inappropriate or undisclosed use of AI is suspected, the editorial team may request further explanations, take appropriate action in accordance with the journal’s ethical policies, or reject a manuscript without sending it for peer review.
Prevention of plagiarism
Plagiarism, that is, copying or reproducing another person’s ideas, opinions, words, or other creative expressions verbatim, constitutes a serious violation of the law and of academic and publishing ethics. In addition to copyright infringement, plagiarism includes:
- The verbatim or near-verbatim reproduction, or deliberate paraphrasing, of parts of other authors’ texts without proper citation and acknowledgment of the sources used; and
- The copying of images, graphs, tables, equations, and other illustrations without proper attribution of the source or without obtaining permission from the author or copyright holder.
Manuscripts for which there are clear indications of plagiarism will be automatically rejected and will not be considered further. If a software-based plagiarism check establishes that a manuscript submitted to the journal’s Editorial Office constitutes plagiarism, the article will be rejected immediately and excluded from further peer review.
