Abstract

Research on the efficiency of financial leasing companies (leasing
companies) is very challenging given their specificity within financial
institutions. Starting from that, this paper comparatively analyses the
efficiency of financial leasing providers in Serbia on the basis of ARAS
method and DEA model. According to the results of empirical research on
the efficiency of financial leasing providers in Serbia based on the ARAS
method, they were most effective in 2018. Next years were: 2019, 2016,
2020, 2017, 2015, 2014, and 2013. According to the BCC-I model in all
years of the observed period (2013-2020) financial leasing providers in
Serbia were efficient. According to the BCC-O model, financial leasing
providers in Serbia were efficient in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2018, while in
other years of the observed time (2013, 2017, 2019 and 2020) they were
inefficient. According to the results of the ARAS method and DEA models,
financial leasing providers in Serbia were efficient in 2018, and inefficient
in 2020. In 2020, the efficiency of financial leasing providers was worse
than in 2019. The inefficiency of financial leasing providers in Serbia in
2020 was partly influenced by the Covid-19 Crown Virus Pandemic.
