Global financial crisis has shaken the general confidence in financial markets significantly. The reaction to huge losses incurred by banks and other financial institutions reissued the argument far public intervention in the field of financial regulation. The purpose of this essay is to give short overview of the most common types of financial regulation applied in practice and the consequences of increased regulation for Serbia.
