ln this paper the author argues in favor of the claim that the similarity between Plato and Aristotle's theories of democracy is greater than it is commonly assurned. She will atternpt to show that there is a striking resemblance in the treatment of democracy in the Republic and the Nichomachean Ethics, and lhe Laws and the Politics respectively. The former pair describes democracy as a deficient form of goveming, while the latter two discuss democracy in less critical manner taking into account the rea] historical circumstances.
